2016 Update - She is still growing, though now old enough that we've bred her to Reiling's Challenger. What an awesome cria that should make! They both have great fleece and he has the big head! Always exciting.

WOW! We are in love with this girl. Growing like a weed, beautiful conformation, fine fleece with what is looking like long staple length with good crimp. We will see where she takes us for sure!

Look at what the owners of her parents have to say about them and you will understand our excitement about Valentine:

Current owners of her sire, Snowmass Matrix Madness, state that he is ultra bright and very dense. Take a look at his colorful crias and see for yourself how he is transferring these great qualities. So far he seems to be throwing the color of the dam and adding tremendous fleece density, bone size, fleece coverage, brightness, and of course fineness. Julie Skinner at Snowmass tells us that her Madness cria was simply dripping with fleece from birth and was incredibly bright and fine. She said he was the quality that she would have expected from her top white herdsires!

The current owner of her dam, (Snowmass) Cienega Creek Christy, says that she is their top true black producer. Snowmass Alpacas' Julie Skinner was on the hunt for a top level black female to breed to Nova. She found Christy and purchased her on the spot. (technically Snowmass isn't on her ARI) After she produced offspring for Julie to keep in her herd. We were able to purchase her for our herd. She has produced Futurity Blue ribbon winners and champions...all in True Black. She passes on fineness, brightness, low scale, and silky highly crimped locklets to all of her cria. This type of fleece is so essential to black fiber.

She herself has a beautiful staple length and is absolutely drop dead gorgeous! Her genetics are outstanding...going back to the one and only Peruvian Accoyo Pluro. Pluro has produced outstanding crias in a range of colors. His bloodline is rare because he is no longer in the US.
